Les Gets comments 2010

“Traditional-style village with a very French feel, providing serious competition for it’s more established linked neighbour, Morzine.”

“Les Gets is an attractive, small, family-friendly resort with a very French feel to it, partly because of the appetizing food and wine shops lining the main street. The area of slopes that it shares with Morzine offer the most extensive local network in the Portes du Soleil, and in some respects Les Gets is the better base for the area.”

“[Mont Chery] slopes include some of the most challenging in the area and are usually very quiet.”

“… grassy slopes don’t need much snow cover and in a sparse snow year you may do better here than in higher rockier resorts such as Avoriaz.”

“There is a good selection of chalets and mid-range hotels. A 2009 reporter had a “jolly nice” stay at Ski Famille’s Le Marjorie chalet.”

“Off the slopes: There’s a well equipped fitness centre with a pool, an outdoor ice rink and bowling. There are good shops, a cinema and an intriguing Mechanical Music Museum; husky sleigh rides, snowshoeing and parapenting are possible.”
